Manuel J. Castellanos, MD, FAAP

Dr. Castellanos is a board-certified pediatrician with over 25 years of experience in general pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine. Graduated Cum Laude from Universidad Iberoamericana and trained at Mount Sinai’s Pediatric Residency in NJ, Dr. Castellanos also holds a fellowship in pediatric pulmonology. Currently, he’s a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Miami School of Medicine. Dr. Castellanos is fluent in English and Spanish. He’s passionate about kids’ health, he’s also a family man who enjoys golf, boating, and spending time with his wife, two sons, and their German Shepherd, Bruno.

Lina Latorre-Maichel, MD

Dr. Latorre-Maichel earned her medical degree from La Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla, Columbia. She worked in Neonatology research at the University of Miami and Holtz Children’s Hospital. She worked for 2 years in Jackson Memorial Hospital and Holtz Children’s Hospital as the House Physician for Transplant Surgery for both adults and children. Later, she successfully completed her Residency in Pediatrics at the University of Miami. Dr. Latorre-Maichel has over 10 years of experience in working with children in Primary and Urgent Care. She has special interest in Development and Behavior, Newborn Care, Asthma and Adolescent Medicine. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She is married and has 3 beautiful young children. She enjoys traveling with her family.

Maggy Polier, Owner

Maggy acquired ECC Pediatrics from Dr. Antonieta Schettino upon her retirement in 2021. Since acquiring ECC, Maggy has rebranded ECC, added new services and hopes to continue to grow the practice, all while continuing to provide the same excellent care that our patients and families have always experienced. Maggy is a mother of 4 wonderful children. You can catch her at the office almost all days, always available and ready to help you and your family.

Yarelis Alicea, PPCBC-NP, APRN, MSN, CPEN

With over 20 years of experience working with children, Yarelis is a dedicated Pediatric Nurse Practitioner specializing in emergency medicine. Her compassionate care, clinical expertise, and calm presence have made her a trusted figure for both patients and their families during critical moments. Outside of her professional life, Yarelis finds her greatest joy in spending time with her family. She is a proud mother of 5 and a loving grandmother to 3, cherishing every moment she gets to spend with them. Her deep understanding of children’s needs drives her commitment to providing exceptional care to every child she meets.

Diana T. Ros, MSN, FNP-BC

Diana Ros is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner who cares for patients of all ages with a clinical focus on adult health and functional medicine. She specializes in hormone replacement therapy, peptide therapy, and supplementation protocols, empowering patients to achieve balanced health. Diana emphasizes patient education, proactive health management, and individualized treatment plans rooted in science and compassion. Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys staying active, traveling, and exploring new foods.

Lisett Arce, MA

Lisett has been part of our practice for over 11 years. She is a certified Medical Assistant (MA). As our Lead MA, she provides administrative and clinical support to our providers. She is the mother of two and enjoys spending her free time with family and friends. Lisset’s top priority is the patient needs and to provide top quality patient care.

Nuria Valdes, MA

Nuria has been part of ECC for over 5 years. She is a certified Medical Assistant (MA). As one of our MA’s, she provides administrative and clinical support to our providers. She is the mother of a beautiful young girl. She enjoys sharing her free time with her mother and her daughter. You can find Nuria in our patient rooms and lab providing top quality care.

Adrianna Sosa, Admin

Adrianna, hailing from Miami and deeply invested in her studies in Rehabilitation and Recreational Therapy at Florida International University, plays a vital role in ECC as an administrator. She leverages her position to gain practical experience, aiming for excellence in her future medical career. In addition to her professional endeavors, Adrianna cherishes her time with family and friends, nurturing meaningful relationships that balance her busy schedule.
